Black Diamond heeft op haar website het volgende te melden over het vervangen van de slinges van cams:

•  With occasional use: slings should be replaced every 5-8 years  
• With frequent use: slings should be replaced 2-5 years. 

Of course, these are just guidelines. A brand new cam sling could get dusted after one pitch if the sling ran over a razorblade granite edge and got sawed back and forth while jugging or something… Remember it’s every individual climber’s responsibility to check their gear often, and when it doubt, throw it out.” 

Hieronder staan een aantal opties waar je oude bandlussen/slinges van cams veilig kunt laten vervangen. Er worden drie grote fabrikanten genoemd. Ongetwijfeld zullen meer fabrikanten de mogelijkheid bieden om slinges te vervangen. Het is echter vaak problematisch en duur om materiaal naar de VS te sturen en weer terug te laten komen. In het geval van cams van Amerikaanse makelij is het daarom aan te raden reparaties in Europa te laten verrichten of om de reparaties uit te laten voeren tijdens een reis in de VS.

We will no longer be able to resling cams older than 10 years. Yates Gear reserves the right to decline reslinging of any cams we feel are unsafe because of there condition of use. (ie. Please do not send us cams that are used up and thrashed!) It will be up to the customer to determine the age and condition of their cams before sending them in to us. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. We can not do Tricams. We will not re-sling bare cabled cams. 

WILD COUNTRY 

Following CE legislation Wild Country is legally only able to Repair Friends under 10 years old and the only repairs we will undertake are to replace triggers and replace slings. 

BLACK DIAMOND
